Jason Beresford TV News

TV News

Jason spent over a decade reporting the news for both TV and radio and he has designed a bespoke workshop for primary school pupils to learn the tricks of the trade.

Over the course of a day, they will be taught how TV news reports rely on the present perfect tense and how reporters use concise, simple vocabulary to write non-fiction reports.

By the end of the workshop, the children will be reading their reports to camera and they will have learned how to write clear and understandable news stories that grab the attention of the audience.

They may also find out what teacher Betty Trumpet was up to on the top of Mount Everest and why Chief Inspector Arthur Snowball is on the hunt for a chicken thief!
